Black and Grey Realism, Portraits, and Highly Detailed Renderings

Ted Hawkins began tattooing two decades ago. With a deep love of all things art and music, and all things creative, he gravitated towards tattooing as a way to express that creativity. He specializes in black and grey realism, doing portraits and highly detailed renderings of both people and animals.

After living in Buffalo for the last 8 years and opening up several successful studios and an art gallery, he relocated back here to his beloved Southern California.

Being an avid student of Zen, Advaita, and non-duality, he enjoys the deep concentration and flow that realism requires, and also the connection to each tattoo client and their needs and visions.

Outside the studio he enjoys abstract and realistic oil painting, usually leaning towards human nature and the struggles and joys of being an artist in the modern world.
